The Sci-Tech Division Awards Committee is pleased to announce the 2008 Award Winners:

The 2008 Sci-Tech Achievement Award was awarded to Anna Wu Ren, Head of Public Services and Engineering Library, Northwestern University, Seeley G. Mudd Library for Science-Engineering..

The 2008 S. Kirk Cabeen Travel Stipend was awarded to

Betsy Ronan Herzog – University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill
Gail Stebbins – University of Pittsburg

The 2008 Bonnie Hilditch International Science-Technology and Engineering Divisions Librarian Award, co-sponsored by the SLA Engineering Division, was awarded to Debal Chandra Kar, president of the Asian Chapter SLA..

The 2008 Sci-Tech and European Chapter Student Travel Stipend was awarded to Hanna Lewin – University College of London.

2008 Division Appreciation Awards were presented to the following honorees:

Impossible Award to Ann Koopman, given in recognition of her people-centered leadership during her tenure as Chair, for initiating organizational changes, and for editing the Recommended Practices document to reflect those changes, and for being a great mentor to the incoming chair.

Roger Beckman, in recognition of his leadership of the Sci-Tech and Engineering contributed paper sessions for several years.

Dale Riordan, in recognition of her devoted work on CE courses, running successful courses 4 years in a row. 

Jean and John Piety, - retired after many years of service to the Division.
