The SLA Petroleum & Energy Resources Division offers the following annual awards and stipends:

• DPER Special Achievement Award
  The Special Achievement Award is given to a current or past DPER member who has made a substantial achievement of significant importance to the Division.
   
• DPER Student Stipend Award
  The Student Stipend award is provided to students enrolled in accredited graduate level library or information science programs to encourage attendance at the SLA Annual Conference

Joyce Fedeczko is 2008 recipient of PER Special Achivement Award

The PER Division is pleased to announce that Joyce Fedeczko is the 2008 recipient of the PER Special Achievement Award. Joyce has been a member of the PER Division since 2003 and has made many contributions to the Division during this time. In addition to serving the Division as International Relations Chair, Nominating Committee Chair, Membership Chair and Treasurer, .Joyce has proactively collaborated with Division committees and task groups and has worked tirelessly to recruit and mentor future PER leaders, including members of our current Board. Joyce’s most significant contribution, however, is her assertive and passionate promotion of the PER Division, its philosophy, goals, objectives, and activities. In addition to her current position on the PER Board, Joyce is active in the SLA Illinois Chapter, the SLA Knowledge Management Division, the SLA Leadership & Management Division, her local public library board of trustees, and the Illinois Library Association. In each of these capacities, Joyce has served as PER's Goodwill Ambassador, spreading the word about the value of the Division and the accomplishments of its members.
