Message from the Chair

Parker Ladwig

PAM,

Well, this is it, the last Bulletin before the SLA annual conference in Seattle. I think we have some great sessions planned for enriching your professional lives and a number of PAM social events for fun. The list of PAM events is included in this issue.

PAMSeattleProgram (Print the file at this link) I’m looking forward to meeting lots of folks at various events throughout the week.

SLA will "spotlight" one of PAM’s co-led sessions. It’s on Monday, June 16: "Achieving your high score - Using video games to engage your audience." Our PAM liaison is Sara Russell Gonzalez sargonz@uflib.ufl.edu, if you’d like to get more details.

I recently sent results of the fall computer science survey to PAMnet. The results will be discussed at the Computer Science Roundtable. I haven’t received any feedback, so I assume that folks are going to wait to discuss the survey at the roundtable.

Finally, I know Zari Kamarei, Chair-elect, has already begun to plan next year’s SLA annual conference in Washington, D.C.—it’s SLA’s centennial. Zari is also beginning to think about volunteers for PAM’s various offices, so you might let her know if there’s anything you’re interested in.

Let me close by taking the opportunity to thank all the folks who’ve helped me plan this year’s conference. I’ll name all of them at the PAM business meeting, but for now, you know who you are….
See you in Seattle!
