We welcome several new members to the PAM Division. Robin Howard is the new Science and Mathematics Librarian at the University of Houston. Jeff Bond is the new Science Reference Librarian at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth Texas.
The University of California Berkeley appointed two new colleagues in January 2007. Brian Quigley is the new head of the Mathematics Statistics Library. He had been a librarian in Berkeley’s Engineering Library since 2000. After a four-year hiatus, he has also become a PAM member again. Susan Koskinen is the new Physics-Astronomy Librarian at UC Berkeley. Susan comes from the Environmental Design Library, and she has also worked as Librarian with an architectural firm, as an instructor with the Teaching Library and as a library design consultant. She will oversee the return of the Physics-Astronomy Library to its permanent home in LeConte Hall after several years of earthquake remediation construction work in the building. Susan is the PAM Division’s liaison to IOP Publishing.
Christina Birdie, Librarian of the Indian Institute of Astrophysics at Bangalore, India has been invited to be a member of the Editorial Board of the international journal Science & Technology Libraries published by Haworth Press.
Elizabeth Brown, became Coordinator of the Science Library at Binghamton University Libraries in November 2006. The position involves management of the Science Library, collection coordination, and supervision of science librarian/bibliographers, as well as her previous subject responsibilities for the physical sciences and ME.
Angela M. Gooden, Associate Librarian has achieved tenure at the University of Cincinnati. She is the Head of the Geology-Mathematics-Physics Library.
