The meeting was called to order at 8:35. A reminder was given about feedback forms. Cynthia Holt passed out the Annual conference directory of PAM attendees. Attendees introduced themselves.

Divison News

Presented by Cynthia Holt – PAM directory (100 members attending), Yellow cards with social dance card

Timetable for PAM officer appointments -- moving to a calendar year model from a conference to conference schedule

  • Past
    • June, elections, chair-elect becomes chair, elect new chair-elect. Secretary and treasurer are staggered, so we elect one or the other each year.
    • Chair elect fundraises for the chair’s conference. Chair elect plans for the next (1.5 years later) conference at the winter meeting
  • Proposed
    • Elections in the fall (electronically if approved)
    • Current officers will be in for 6 months extra, with the exception of treasurer (6 months less) and the secretary (6 months more)
    • The bulk of the conference is planned as chair-elect
    • Past chair will take over fundraising for their conference
    • New position – conference assistant, appointed June-June
  • Feedback requested

Note: these changes are necessary to support SLA’s proposed bylaws change. If the proposed bylaws don’t pass then this won’t all happen

Discussion of new way of programming the conference

  • To avoid duplications
  • Fewer programming spots
  • Proposed sessions will have to be approved by SLA so that they don’t duplicate other

New Logo

  • Presented by Melissa Hilbert, Kristi Jensen
  • IOP graphics department donated their time and proposed two designs based on information provided by the committee
  • Goal to
    • Make it more usable across different media
    • More modern/professional look
    • Tie in to SLA
    • Still represent the p-a-m aspects
  • There will be a poster copy of the logos in the suite, fill out a feedback card
  • Options
    • Take one of the new logos
    • Keep old logo
    • Ask the designer to change one of the logos
