The Governing Document for the PAM Division is undergoing revision. The current Governing Document, as provided and approved by SLA's Board of Directors, is available at http://www.sla.org/division/dpam/governingdocs/index.html . This version may not include everything we think is important for PAM, remembering that it is the Governing Document (which replaces the old PAM Bylaws) that can be changed only by a vote of the membership, whereas the fuller PAM Practices Manual can be changed at will by the Board. Issues include specifying the Past-Chair as a Board Officer, and possible quorum designations or officer term limits. Therefore PAM-specific revisions are being considered; the first draft, as presented at the PAMwide Roundtable, is available at http://www.sla.org/division/dpam/governingdocs/revisions.html. Further drafts and discussion will also be posted on at this site.

Input on revisions is wanted from all PAM members by November 2004. We plan to send a proposed revised Governing Document to SLA's Bylaws Committee in December; with their approval, the revision would be distributed in the spring and put to a vote of the PAM membership at the June 2005 Business Meeting.
