PAM Bulletin: Print or Electronic?

Parker Ladwig and Sara Rutter

For several years the PAM Bulletin has been published in print, HTML, and PDF formats. In January 2003, PAM's Three Year Strategic Plan 2003-2005 was approved. Goal 1.2 says "... Plan on the phase-out of the paper edition by 2005 and provide print-on-demand for members that request it." After the 2003 Conference, the PDF format became our version of record. Now, we would like to have PAM Division members tell us if we may dispense with the print format altogether beginning with the August 2004 issue. Following is more information about the proposed change:

  • The PAM Archivist will continue to print off the PDF version for the archives.
  • The PAM membership will be notified via e-mail with linked Table of Contents, that a new issue is up on the Bulletin Website, prior to the announcement to PAMnet. We will use the e-mail addresses members provide to SLA.
  • If a member requires that a print version be mailed to him or her, the Bulletin editors will accommodate those requests by printing off the PDF version and mailing it.
  • Our Chair-elect has contacted past Bulletin sponsors and received positive feedback regarding continued sponsorships if we move to a digital publication.

If you are not able to access the PAM Bulletin as an electronic file or if you have other concerns that you would like to be considered please e-mail or mail that information to:
