Agenda for Computer Science Roundtable

Jane Kinkus and Barbara Hamilton
jkinkus@purdue.edu and hamilton@idaccr.org

Come join the Computer Science Roundtable on Tuesday from 3:30-5:00 p.m. for what promises to be a lively and informative exchange of ideas among CS information professionals. Thanks to IEEE for sponsoring this event. Many of the respondents to this year's electronic "Call for Topics" expressed a desire for an open discussion format rather than formal speakers or presentations.

Therefore, your roundtable co-moderators have envisioned a casual atmosphere with a flexible agenda based on what attendees are most interested in talking and learning about.

The current slate of topics includes:

  • CS collection development issues, especially when you're on a budget
  • The use of electronic book services such as Safari or Books24x7
  • CS technical reports: Let's share information about some of our favorite sites and how we use and market them
  • Print journals-how do you promote these low-tech information sources to the high-tech patron?
  • Other topics as time allows

If you have an additional topic to add to this list, please email one of the co-moderators. See you in New York!
