The Proceedings for Library and Information Services in Astronomy IV (LISA IV), which took place July 2-5, 2002, in Prague, Czech Republic, are now available in print and online. This volume was published by the U.S. Naval Observatory, and edited by PAM members Brenda Corbin and Liz Bryson, and by Marek Wolf. The online version is available at http://www.eso.org/libraries/lisa4/. Print copies have been mailed to each conference participant and to the libraries of most astronomical institutions.

The Astronomy Roundtable at the 2003 SLA Conference will be held on Monday, June 9, 2003. This split session will take place from 11:30-1:00 and from 1:30-3:00. Thanks go to Thomson ISI for sponsoring this event.

The preliminary agenda includes several interesting topics and speakers:

  • An Introduction to the Advanced Technology Solar Telescope, Ruth Kneale
  • CFHT's Archiving Initiatives: Oral Histories of the Past, Liz Bryson
  • Information Literacy for Science Students at Case Western Reserve University, William Claspy
  • ADS Update, Donna Thompson
  • U.S. Naval Observatory Cataloging Records in ADS, Brenda Corbin
  • Core list of astronomy and physics journals, Pam Yorks
  • Core list of astronomy books, Madeleine Needles
  • National Virtual Observatory, unconfirmed project scientist

The last hour of the session has been reserved for open discussion. Please plan to attend the Astronomy Roundtable in order to share your experiences and to learn what your colleagues have been up to!
