Winner of SLA Diversity Leadership Development Award Kris Fowler Kris wrote to PAMnet, "I learned … that PAM member Christina Birdie (formerly Christina Louis) has won a Diversity Leadership Development Award! Christina won PAM's first International Membership Award in 1999, chaired our International Relations Committee for a while, and acted as conference buddy for last year's IMA winner in Los Angeles. I'm delighted to see her recognized by this new award. 'The SLA Diversity Leadership Development Award recognizes individuals from multi-cultural backgrounds who display excellent leadership abilities in the profession and demonstrate a willingness to develop and strive for leadership opportunities within the Association. The year's winners are Christina Birdie, Librarian, Indian Institute of Astrophysics Library, Bangalore, India; . . . and Pradnya Yogesh, Librarian, Mahindra-British Telecom Ltd., Pune, India.' (The full press release may be found at http://www.sla.org/content/memberservice/communication/pr/pressrelease/2304.cfm.) "PAMmers will also remember Pradnya Yogesh, who attended several PAM activities at the Los Angeles conference with Christina and Sunita Barve. "I know you will join me in congratulating Christina and Pradnya." |
