Winner of PAM International Membership Award Zahra Kamarei I am delighted to announce that Mrs. Umran Kandemir has been chosen as the winner of the 2003 PAM International Membership Award! Umran is currently serving as the Science and Engineering Reference Librarian at Koc University Library in Istanbul, Turkey. I encourage you to visit Koc University's website at http://library.ku.edu.tr/. Umran has a Bachelors degree in Library Science from University of Istanbul. She learned English by attending Cicero Language Center in United Kingdom. The field of science and technology, and particularly astronomy, physics and mathematics are very important to Koc University Library and Umran plays a vital role in providing quality user services to the patrons by development of print and electronic resources and library instruction courses. As part of the award, Umran will be a member of the International Relations Committee and will join us for the annual conference in New York in June, where she will speak about professional development for librarians in her country.
