PAM Draft Strategic Plan for 2003-2006

Greg Youngen

The FIRST DRAFT of the PAM Strategic Plan for 2003-2006 is available at http://www.sla.org/division/dpam/stratplan/Stratplan03draft.html and is ready for your comments and suggestions. This document includes both the current plan (1999-2002) and draft new plan (2003-2006). Each section of the current plan (in italics) is followed by the suggested new language (in bold).

The Strategic Planning Committee members thoroughly reviewed the current plan and found the four basic goals still relevant for the next three years. We have re-written several of the objectives based on past experience and new opportunities. Two of the objectives (2.6 and 3.4) have been dropped. For nearly all the objectives, there were discussions that are not included in the text of this document. We are sure that you, the members and friends of PAM, will have questions, some that we have already discussed and many more we have not.

Please send your comments to any member of the Strategic Planning Committee by December 15, 2002. We will revise this draft and publish the final version on PAMnet and in the February 2003 issue of the PAM Bulletin.

PAM is a dynamic group because people are involved and engaged. People are engaged and involved because PAM is so dynamic. To keep that energy going, please let us hear from you!

I would also like to thank the members of the Strategic Planning Committee, Dorothy McGarry, Susan Vazakas, and Molly White for their effort, time, and ideas in putting together this document. We had a good plan to begin with, and we hope the revisions reflect the goals and objectives of the division for the next three years.
