PAM Awards Call for Nominations Alice Primack The PAM Awards Committee is seeking nominations for the 2003 PAM Division Award and the 2003 PAM Achievement Award. Please send your nominations by March 1st. The PAM Division Award is given for a significant contribution to the literature of physics, mathematics, or astronomy, or to honor work which demonstrably improves the exchange of information in physics, mathematics, or astronomy. The contribution should also significantly benefit libraries or enhance the ability of librarians to provide service. It should be special—above and beyond the normal job requirements of the individual(s) or group concerned. The individual(s) or group so honored need not be, but may be, a SLA/PAM member. The PAM Achievement Award is reserved for those recipients whose professional work is marked by distinction and dedication to librarianship in astronomy, mathematics and/or physics. The purpose of the award is to recognize those division members who have made outstanding contributions to the division. More details and guidelines for nominations are on the awards section of the PAM web site, at
http://www.sla.org/division/dpam/manual/awards.html. If you have any questions please e-mail me. We look forward to hearing from you. |
