Members' Corner Brenda Corbin Brian Quigley (Kresge Engineering Library, University of California, Berkeley) is one of the authors of a recently published paper assessing the need for information technology instruction among science faculty. The research represented in this paper was done by Brian and some of his colleagues while in his former position at Texas A&M University. The full citation is: Quigley, B.D.; Church, G.M.; and Peterson, A., "Defining the need for information technology instruction among science faculty." Science & Technology Libraries, 2001, vol.20(1), pg.5-42. Shaun Hardy has been elected to a 3-year term on the AIP's Advisory Committee on History of Physics. The Committee reviews and evaluates the activities of the Center for the History of Physics in College Park, MD. Shaun is at the Carnegie Institution of Washington, DTM-Geophysical Library. Donna Cromer is currently on a six-month sabbatical from her job. She will be writing a book on training, continuing education, and management for science and engineering reference services. The intent is to be quite practical, with specific learning exercises in the fields covered, and to provide some theory and depth so that it will be useful for a long time. She hopes to be able to capture at least some of the immense depth of knowledge many of us have, so she may well ask for your help.
