Requests for Nominations for the Year 2000 PAM Division Awards Donna J. Coletti Please help us find and recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to the PAM Division and to the profession. To submit a nomination please send a typed, signed statement to Donna Coletti, Awards Committee Chair (see address below). Include information on the candidate's contribution to the literature/communications or, for the achievement award, professional career, committee activities or offices held within the Division, special Division projects or services, publications, and any other related functions that qualify the person for the award. Please include the name, position, business address, and telephone number of the candidate, significant publications, supporting letters, etc. The deadline for nominations for both awards is March 1, 2000. The two awards that may be given each year are: Do you know a special individual or group of individuals who have made a significant contribution to the literature of physics, math, or astronomy or conducted work that has improved the exchange of information in these disciplines. The contribution should also significantly benefit libraries or enhance the ability of librarians to provide service. We want to recognize an individual or group who has exceeded the normal expectations of their constituency. Qualifications: This award is reserved for a distinguished and dedicated library professional in the field of physics, astronomy, and/or math, this award recognizes an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the Division. Award recipients will be honored at the Annual Business Meeting where they will be presented with a framed certificate and invited to bring a guest for a celebratory dinner with the PAM Chair and the Awards Committee Chair. |
