Awards & Honors

The Special Libraries Association is seeking nominations for the 1998 Awards and Honors Program, which recognizes the outstanding accomplishments of members and the profession of special librarianship.

Candidates may be nominated by any SLA member(s) (including themselves), by an employer or by Association Staff. Candidates must be members in good standing at the time of nomination, selection, and presentation (exceptions: Professional, Honorary Member and SLA Media Award).

The winners are selected by the members of the SLA Awards and Honors Committee and its subcommittees. The Public Relations Awards are decided by the Public Relations Committee. Most of these awards, with the exception of the International Special Librarians Day (ISLD) Award, are decided at the Winter Meeting in January, 1998. All SLA and PR awards will be presented and honored at the SLA 89th Annual Conference in Indianapolis, IN.

Deadline for most awards is December 5, 1997 (ISLD Award deadline is May 1, 1998).

Please help SLA recognize the outstanding contributions that our members are making in raising the visibility of the profession and of the Association.
