  • One of the primary means of communication among PAM members is the electronic discussion group PAMnet. PAMnet, started in 1988, is a discussion group for librarians and information specialists working in the areas of physics, astronomy, and mathematics. PAMnet is used for announcements, requests for information and reference assistance, and much more. Although originally established for members of PAM, membership in PAM is not required to join PAMnet.

Why become a member?

PAM is a dynamic group working to provide cooperative advantages for our fellow information professionals in physics, astronomy and mathematics. If you are an information professional in one of these subject areas, we would like you to join our more than 200 members in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Australia, and even South Africa and Chile.

PAM offers a mentoring program for new members, those new to the library profession or new to a physics/astronomy/mathematics library. PAM also sponsors special sessions and round-table discussions for physics, mathematics, astronomy, and computer science at the annual SLA conferences.
