Paul Ginsparg Receives Award
Paul Ginsparg of Elementary Particles and Field Theory (T-8) shows Isabel Brackbill, center, and Donna Berg of the Research Library (CIC-14) a picture of Capital Peak in Colorado that he recently climbed. Ginsparg received the Special Libraries Association's Physics Astronomy Math Award for his creation of the Los Alamos National Laboratory electronic preprint server, officially called the "e-Print Archive," at an award ceremony held for him in the J. Robert Oppenheimer Study Center on Monday. The archive, located at http://xxx.lanl.gov, allows physicists and other researchers to immediately place their articles on the Web for peer review.
