"4000 Years of Women in
Science" presented by astronomer Sethanne Howard.
How long have women been active scientists? Actually, as long as we have been human. Women contributed in all the ways there are to the technical advancement of humanity. They were as resourceful and passionate
about their work as any scientists today, and certainly as creative. Their stories are a clear light to the future. |

Continuing Education Course: Licensing Electronic Journals
Lead: PAM Division
Date and Time: Thursday, June 15, 2000 ; 8:30 am to 4:00 pm
Level of Target Audience: Beginner
Track : Professional Development
Speaker: Trisha Davis, Ohio State University
Abstract: Electronic journals are fast becoming the preferred method for information dissemination, especially in the sciences. This workshop will guide the participant through all the steps necessary for revising a standard license agreement into a contract that is acceptable to both parties. The principles and practices of license negotiation will be covered, including both business and technical issues. Participants will break up into small,
role-playing groups and negotiate a generic license, which will then be critiqued and evaluated by the other groups.
PAM CE Course: # 745; Cost; Mbr. - $ 225, Non-Mbr. - $250.
