The LMD Nominating Committee is pleased to announce the following slate of nominees:

1) For Chair-Elect (3 year term progressing to Chair, then Past Chair)

Bill Fisher is a professor with the School of Library & Information Science at San Jose State

University. His primary teaching areas include management, leadership and business

information resources. He is a long-time member of the Association and LMD. Bill has served

the Association in a variety of positions, including two terms on SLA’s Board of Directors, one

of which was as President of the Association. He is the current John Cotton Dana award

recipient.

2) For Treasurer (2 year term)

Joel Patrick Berger is the president and owner of C. Berger Group, Inc., a library personnel

and informationmanagement services firm headquartered in Carol Stream, IL. Prior to

joining his present company, he spent 6 years at the National Association of REALTORS

(NAR) in Chicago. Joel has been Treasurer and Director for the Illinois Chapter; and is

currently Past President of the Wisconsin Chapter. He and his company have sponsored

the Karen J. Switt Leadership Award for the past eighteen years, and he was a member

Planning Committee. She served on the SLA Board of Directors from 2004 to 2006 as

Chapter Cabinet Chair. Previously Patricia was a member of several Association committees

Patricia played an instrumental role in the virtualization of the SLA's Western Canada

Canada Chapter. She has a Master's Degree in Library Science from the University of British Columbia.

An electronic ballot will be held in October and candidates will take office in January, 2009.
