What You Should Know About Accounting Research

Now that Accounting issues are front-page news, it's inevitable that you'll need to know how to find your way around the Accounting literature. This program will explore the resources you'll need to: 1. Understand the question (become a self-taught CPA in 30 minutes or less!), and 2. Find the answer (What's a SFAS? Where can I find it? How do I know if it's been superseded?). This program will also consider free and fee-based resources, and examine the current state of online products (Is there life after NAARS?).
1:30-3:00 PM Competitive Intelligence Section Roundtable
Competitive Intelligence experts will discuss the limits and boundaries of experience, education and knowledge required to function in the information age. The "L" word may be removed from the vocabulary but the work and resources and the barriers are still there which need to be recognized and dealt with to meet the new challenges. They will also talk about transferable skills and how one can convert their expertise to blend into the Internet world. The experts will also try to provide a road map to new horizons, and how to stay competitive. This will be an open session with questions and answers for the audience, as well as the panel. Please join us in changing the face and structure of the educational programs to meet real world requirements.
