ANNUAL BUSINESS MEETING
JUNE 13, 1995
QUEEN ELIZABETH HOTEL, MONTREAL, QUEBEC CANADA



The meeting began at 12:10 pm with approximately 90 members attending.
Barbara Spiegelman and Kay Mowery were Board Proctors.

Mary thanked the sponsors of the meeting and also the sponsors of the open house, hospitality suite, and audiovisual rental.

Corrections to the 1994 luncheon/business meeting minutes were forthcoming from the members. The changes include changing "Kathleen Baldwin" to '"Charlene Baldwin", the topic of Jonathan Potter's talk was "The Commercial Use of the Internet" -- A Virtual Land Use of the 90's, and the correct date of the meeting was June 14, 1994. It was moved and seconded to accept the 1994 minutes with the corrections noted.

Lillian Mesner reviewed the Treasurer's Report and it was accepted.

The slate of Officer's for 1995-96 was accepted unanimously.
The nominating committee was Ellen Mimnaugh, Charlotte Kohrs, and Doris Hefler.

After this report, lunch was provided for the members.

After lunch, Mary Marshall presented a talk entitled "Then, Now and Beyond" and mentioned various highlights of the past year's division activities and provided a humorous slide show of division members in action during the previous year.

Mary recognized the various sub-unit chairs and chairs-elect in addition to the committee chairs and past division chair.

Mary recognized Karen Bleakley, Division Conference Chair for the Montreal Conference.

Mary highlighted various accomplishments during the 1994/95 year.

Chair-Elect Zohreh Imam spoke about her aspirations and wishes for the division for the 1995/96 year and she wants to be particularly responsive to the division members' needs and requests.

Zohreh presented a gift to Mary in recognition of her past year as Chair.

New Business included the continuing of the Internet Room as sponsored by the division for the near future, the upcoming by-laws changes, the division's listserv with an additional 100 members reported on SLAITE-L, and the mention of the division's homepage to appear soon as maintained by the University of Michigan at Dearborn.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:30 pm.
