CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order at 4:06 pm by Chair Piety.

MEETING AGENDA:
The meeting agenda was circulated by Piety.

MINUTES:
Spala circulated minutes of the Board's January 29, 1997 Executive Board meetings. Mesner moved for approval; Compton seconded the motion; the motion carried unanimously and the minutes were approved as distributed.

TREASURER'S REPORT
Compton reported on the financial status of the Division. See attached written report.

CHAIR'S SUMMARY:
Piety thanked Mesner for all her efforts in organizing and planning this year in support of the Division activities and recognized the efforts expended by all those in attendance who have contributed to the Division this year.

B/ITE
An issue is at press now and will be mailed after this meeting.

Piety distributed a draft of a membership survey form for Board review and consideration. Further discussion was tabled until a future meeting.

NOMINATIONS:
Piety submitted a slate of candidates for the open Division position as follows:

Chair-elect: Hope Tillman
Secretary: Lynne Bidwell
Government Information Section, Chair-elect: Joyce Baker
Microcomputers Section, Chair-elect: Vinita Singh
Networking Section, Chair-elect: Janet Mathers
Online Section, Chair-elect: Seymour Satin
Technical Services Section, Chair-elect: Connie J. Sheridan

It was noted that two of the candidates are not current Division members; Piety will ensure that they join the Division before Tuesday's Annual Division Meeting. With this proviso, Mesner moved, Compton seconded and the Board approved this slate of candidates for election at the Annual Division Meeting.

SECTION REPORTS:

1. GOVERNMENT INFORMATION SECTION
Open position - no report.

2. MICROCOMPUTER SECTION
Kavanaugh reported on the Seattle program. She also voiced her support for the Division's evaluation of its organizational structure to better address the needs of the members.

3. NETWORK SECTION
Katz reported on the Seattle program and suggested a summary of the program be posted to the Division Web page. All agreed that it would be very beneficial to get as much of our program information on the Web for those members unable to attend the Conference or session.

4. ONLINE SECTION
Smith-Cohen reported on the Seattle program. She also discussed the two items she has submitted for the Web page; one, an outline for training for using the Internet as a reference tool; and two, her employer's policy statement. Tillman will work with the Web team to get these items posted.

5. TECHNICAL SERVICES SECTION
No attendee; no report.

CONFERENCE PLANNING REPORT - SEATTLE
No attendee; no report.

Hospitality Division Suite
Kohrs asked for volunteers to assist in hosting sign-up for time slots at this evening's event.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

1. Archives
Kohrs circulated an inventory of items; the discussion of these was tabled until the post-conference Executive Board Meeting.

2. NETWORKING COMMITTEE
Division Web Page
Tillman reported that the Web page has been successfully relocated to KR Information.

She and Lynne Bidwell are sharing responsibilities for collecting and loading materials. All submissions should be directed to her attention.
