IT Division Communications Section

2008 Section Officers

Scope of the section:

The IT Communication Section tracks current and emerging technologies, devices and tools for information transmission, delivery, and sharing, to help members share information, experience, and best practices regarding applications, capabilities, features, and techniques for the effective use of these technologies in the provision of information services.

Examples of transmission technologies include: internet, wireless, RSS, podcasts, VOIP, RFID, GPS, and instant messaging; examples of delivery devices include: mobile phones, MP3 players, portals, and web servers; and examples of information sharing tools include: blogs, wikis, online communities, and social networks.
