| Honors Award | Bill M. Woods Award | Special Citations

The Honors Award may be given annually, at the discretion of the Honors and Awards Committee, to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution in the field of geography, cartography, or map librarianship, either for specific activities or for general service and contributions in these fields. The Honors Award was established in 1954 and was first awarded at the Association's annual conference in 1955.

The Bill M. Woods Award may be given annually at the discretion of the Honors and Awards Committee. It is a cash award for the best paper to appear in the Special Libraries Association, Geography and Map Division Bulletin during calendar year preceding the annual conference. The Bill M. Woods Award was established in 1975 and first awarded in at the Association's annual conference in 1976. (The Bulletin went on hiatus in 1997.)
