Nations Cyberschoolbus
The United Nations Cyberschoolbus was created as an online education component
of the Global Teaching and Learning Project, whose mission is to promote
education about international issues and the United Nations. The Global
Teaching and Learning Project produces teaching materials and activities
designed for educational use and for training teachers. The vision of
this Project is to provide exceptional educational resources to students
growing up in a world undergoing increased globalization. This site provides
a number of activities and projects that teach students about global issues.
There are different curriculums including: Peace Education, Briefing Papers,
Poverty, Schools Demining Schools, and more. It provides links and resources
about different global topics.
United Nations Educational,
Scientific and Cultural Organization
UNESCO is an organization that works to promote quality education as a
fundamental right for everyone by addressing different ranges of themes.
It is the international lead agency for education, the sciences, culture
and communication. UNESCO works to achieve universally free primary education
and gender equality. They explore new teaching methods and strategies
to change teacher practices. UNESCO is working to create the conditions
for genuine dialogue based upon respect for shared values and the dignity
of each civilization and culture. They seek to serve the most vulnerable
and disadvantaged, including the least-developed countries, notably in
Africa, and women and youth. This site provides links to different events
in their particular field of interest, and also useful information on
what is going on in the rest of the world.
United States Education Sites:
American Federation of
Teachers (AFT)
"The American Federation of Teachers was founded in 1916 to represent
the economic, social and professional interests of classroom teachers.
... Five divisions within the organization represent the broad spectrum
of AFT's membership: teachers; paraprofessionals and school-related personnel
(PSRP); local, state and federal employees; higher education faculty and
staff; and nurses and other healthcare professionals. In addition, the
union includes more than 170,000 retiree members."
"In non-convention years, the AFT hosts the Quality Educational
Standards in Teaching (QuEST) conference, a professional issues meeting
that attracts nearly 3,000 educators from around the country. AFT's healthcare,
higher education, public employee and PSRP divisions also host yearly
professional issues conferences."

of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) serves academic education

Reauthorization News
This section has information on the ERIC system, from the beginning
of the reauthorization period, replete with government document tracings,

CMC/PACEM links to many evaluated sites of interest to college and university
education librarians. Topic areas include: Assessment/Educational Tests
