The hard-copy chapter contains additional information -- contact information, the summary of the site and my evaluation of its value.
TELECOMMUNICATIONS INFORMATION SOURCES ON THE NET
I have included organizations' home pages only if they have an especially strong
voice in the industry and if they have a substantial presence on the Net. The
same holds true for telecom industry publications; only the ones that are particularly
well-known and that provide access to the full text of current and back issues
of their publications are included here.
The SLA Telecom Division has a strong international flavor to it; I attempted
to include as many international sites as was practical. In the present regulatory
and competitive environment, a researcher who focuses only on U.S. sources is
missing a large part of the story.
Your comments and suggestions for additions to this list are welcome. Please
send email to MBates@BatesInfo.com
III. Alphabetical Listing of Internet Telecommunications Resources
Additional information on each listing is available in the print version of
this chapter. The first listing includes the complete information available
on all resources listed.
ALLIANCE FOR COMPETITIVE COMMUNICATIONS

Cost: free
Type: http
Contact: Alliance for Competitive Communications (info@bell.com)
Purpose: Extensive background on the Telecommunications Act of 1996 that dramatically
restructured the U.S. local and long-distance telephone industries
Value: This site has not been updated since March 1996, but is a useful archive
of information on the 1996 Act. The site was developed by the seven Baby Bells,
so there is a certain RHC perspective to the information.
