ABOUT THE COMMITTEE

Committee Definition

Seven members, one of whom is an SLA Student Member, and at least one, but not more than three, of whom has experience serving as an advisor to a recognized SLA Student Group. The Student Member is appointed for a one year term, with remaining members serving overlapping terms of three years each.

The Committee shall:

• advise the Board of Directors on programs and other aspects pertaining to student members of SLA;

• advise the association staff as to developments in student activities;

• strengthen and expand Association groups by working closely with faculty advisors of recognized association student groups;

• work with the Association liaison officer to increase the number of student members who become full members of the Association; and

• cooperate with appropriated staff and members who are working on curriculum development in library schools.
