New Members

Welcome to the following new members of the Western Canada Chapter: Tanya Evancio (Manitoba Telecom Services), Donna Jean MacKinnon (UBC Law Library), Greg Rowell (Riverview Hospital) and Marcy Croy Vanwely (Fisheries and Oceans Canada).

Donna Jean (DJ) MacKinnon is a graduate of the Palmer School of Library and Information Science (Long Island University, New York) While living in New York in the late 1990's, she worked at a law firm and at a planning and engineering firm in reference and solo-librarian capacities. Prior to doing her MLIS, she worked for 8 years at the City of Vancouver Archives on reference. Other work and interests have included publicity and public relations, project management, and special events coordination. She is currently a reference librarian at UBC's law library.

Greg Rowell is a graduate of the University of Guelph (B.Sc., Human Kinetics, M.Sc., Human Biology) and the University of Toronto (MISt). He worked for several years in the McLaughlin Library at the University of Guelph - first in Veterinary Science Section, then the Science Section and finally in Information Literacy and Open Learning. He is currently the Manager of Library Services at Riverview Hospital (a provincial psychiatric tertiary care facility) in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia where the library plays a large clinical liaison role not only on site, but also province-wide. He recently had a son and, as his wife will verify, is an extremely happy and proud papa.
