Chapter & SLA NewsBy Lynne Foster, Communications Director Greetings to all SLA WCC members and Wired West readers. For those of you who do not know me, I am this year's Director of Communications (yes, a notably absent contributor to the Summer issue of Wired West). I have been busy since the AGM trying to absorb all of the ins and outs of the SLA WCC website. Fortunately, and thanks to Patricia Cia's help and guidance, I think the website has remained up to date. I always welcome suggestions and feedback about our site and would be happy to hear from anyone about new content ideas. I am also fortunate to be working with Teri Tarita (Discussion List) and Kate Bird (Wired West Editor). Both Teri and Kate have been very busy so far this year and have been providing SLA WCC members with exceptional service. On a personal note I wanted to inform members that I have recently left the B.C. Securities Commission Library to join TELUS as Corporate Librarian. Please check the Board Members page for my updated contact information. Chapter NewsYour directors have started presenting Chapter professional development opportunities. Various WCC cities participated in the September virtual seminar titled "What I Should Have Learned in Library School: Insights for Library Professionals " (see a report on the session in this issue of Wired West). This session, facilitated by Lucy Lettis, was part of SLAs 2000 Virtual Seminar Series and proved to be very interesting. Registration details and event synopsis for the rest of the year will be available on the Professional Development page as they become available. If you have attended an event or session and wish to submit your opinion or a summary of the event please send me an email. Be sure to check out the Minutes from the Future Planning Committee.
