The WebSiteGarage www.WebSiteGarage.com offers a FREE 5 point check up to diagnose common website problem areas.
How it works:
You "drive" your website through the diagnostic centre and
the receive an overall rating as well as a breakdown rating for: load time;
dead links; site popularity; spelling; and HTML design. The "mechanic"
explains, interprets and compares your ratings to high-ranked sites and
recommendations are offered on how to improve your site.
Website Garage currently offers other free services including:
- a free GIF lube allowing you to reduce the size of images you link to and save load time
- free registration with 16 directories, this takes a few minutes to complete and registers your page with web search engines like Excite, HotBot and NorthernLite.
- in depth site analysis to tune up your site
- "register it Plus" - register with 100 directories, press release
- AwardAnnounce - this service submits your Web site to companies that deal with Web site awards. It could be an excellent way to build awareness and traffic for well designed, cool or unique corporate sites.
While you may not want to get beyond the quick peek under the hood drive through rating, its fun to check your own site and sites that you may be creating links to from your home page. Don't be distressed by a less than good spelling rating, I'm sure it's American.
