Marjory Jardine & Jason Vine Announce a
Winter West Coast Wedding at the Wickaninish Inn We are having a very small wedding at the Wickaninish Inn in Tofino on Jan 31st. It will be rather informal as I imagine the guests will be seated on the king-size bed in our room; and my "aisle" will be from the bathroom to the fireplace. But, we're both looking forward to the day and to having it in Tofino. We'll have dinner in the restaurant after the ceremony and the chef has offered to make 2 chocolate mousse "wedding cakes" for dessert. I'll be keeping my last name.

Off to Toronto
In March I will be relocating to Toronto. I will miss my good friends and colleagues in Vancouver, but I look forward to being closer to my family, and to the new opportunities that are waiting for my husband and I. I have enjoyed working on the executive of SLA-WCC, and the opportunity to get to know so many of you.

MBR Technical Library
It was announced January 19, 1998 that MB Research will be "winding down its operations over the coming weeks and months as part of the major restructuring underway at MB."

MBR Technical Library will also close its doors. The exact date is unknown, as there are many things to sort out. The Technical Library has been in existence since 1966. It grew to become a world class, unique collection under the expert leadership of Diana Wilimovsky, Judy O'Mara and most recently, Marjory Jardine.

This is a very sad day for the forest products industry and for the library profession.

Updates from Stephen
Stephen Abram is a colleague and friend to many in WCC. He has been sending, for the benefit of his friends in SLA and the information industry, regular progress reports on his battle with illness. Those who know Stephen well will not be surprised by the humour, wit and courage in these reports.
