Learned - Best Practices Developed, Part II
Presented by Oya Y. Rieger
November 26 to December 25, 2007
Course Details
Part II of the seminar will focus on development of best practices and
guidelines to help workshop participants in overseeing effective and
efficient projects. Setting realistic goals, assessing and
understanding the
resources requirements, stakeholder analysis, and benchmarking for
different
phases of the project will be examined with examples. Also
included in the
second part will be business planning including service model
development,
fiscal management, communication plan, assessment and evaluation.
Audience
Designed for librarians, digitization operation managers, and
information
professionals who are interested in sharpening their skills in planning,
managing, and assessing digitization projects. Although technical
background in digital library development will be useful, the workshop
will
take a managerial approach and will not assume any hands-on experience
with
technologies. However, familiarity with digitization initiatives will
provide good background for this presentation.
