Procedures Manual: President-Elect

Current President-Elect

Position Description

The President-Elect is responsible for learning about the operation of the Chapter. This allows a smooth transition so that the Chapter will continue to operate efficiently and in accordance with the Chapter's governing document, practices and procedures when the President-Elect takes office as President.

The President-Elect assists the President and, with the President, represents the Chapter at Chapter Cabinet meetings. In the event of absence or withdrawal of the President, the President-Elect assumes all duties and obligations of the President.

The office of President-Elect may be held by any Chapter member in good standing; preferably one who has held a previous Chapter executive or committee office and who is familiar with the recent history and activities of the Association and of the Western Canada Chapter. Candidates must be highly motivated and be in a position that will permit them to assume the responsibilities of Chapter President and Past President in succeeding years.
