Director
Shirley Lew
Shirley completed her MLIS at the School of Library, Archival and Information Studies (SLAIS) at UBC in 1999. She worked at Richmond Public Library for six years managing their web site and online services before moving on to SLAIS as their Student Services Coordinator. She also co-taught Advanced Information Retrieval at SLAIS for three years. Shirley is currently Coordinator of Library Systems at Vancouver Community College.

Position Description
Overall mandate of the Communications Director is to
determine the appropriate media or technology to communicate
effectively to our membership.
- two-year position responsible to the Chapter
President
- understands the activities of the Chapter and SLA and
is acquainted with the interests of the members
Duties and Responsibilities
- Works with Discussion List Owner and Wired West
Editor to facilitate Chapter communications
- Manages SLA WCC Web Site:
- establishes guidelines for the overall structure,
design and feel of the web site
- coordinates chapter pages (activities and events)
with content supplied by officers and chairs
- establishes security procedures for uploading and
removing files
- redirects feedback to board members
