SLA WCC Travel Grant
SLA WCC offers a travel grant to a new information professional attending the SLA Conference for the first time.
The Chapter will provide up to $1500 towards registration and travel expenses.
To be eligible applicants must be:
- a SLA WCC full member in good standing;
- a new professional and have graduated within the past five years from a library or information program;
- willing to submit an article to Wired West on your conference experience;
- willing to serve on WCC board or participate in workshop activities in the following year.
SLA WCC current board officers, WCC Awards Committee members and past travel grant award members are ineligible.
This grant is awarded by a draw at SLA WCC Board February/March meeting.
Past Recipients:
2008 - Desy Wahyuni, Vancouver, BC
Desy Wahyuni is a recent graduate of the MLIS program from the University of British Columbia. Desy will receive $1500 to be used towards attending the 2009 conference.
2007 - Karen Sawatzky, Winnipeg, Manitoba
Karen graduatee from the Library and Information Technology program at
Red River College in Winnipeg in 2003. Karen is the recipient of
registration at the 2008 SLA Conference in Seattle, and $1000 towards
travel expenses.
