Calgary Special Libraries Association Chapter Roundtable Presentation
SLA-WCC is pleased to invite you to our next luncheon event in Calgary on Digital Issues in Copyright on Thursday March 23.
Robert Tiessen, Head of Access Services at the University of Calgary
Library, will speak on digital issues in copyright, including desktop
delivery. His talk will provide an analysis and speculation about the future
of Bill C-60 (the failed attempt by the Liberals to amend the copyright act)
and also a review of the 2004 Supreme Court Decision CCH vs. LUSC and its
impact on copyright.
Robert is a member of the Canadian Library Association Copyright Working
Group, and continually struggles with copyright at the University of Calgary
as it relates to interlibrary loan, photocopying, and electronic reserves.
