A number of exciting events and activities await students at this spring's meeting...
Second Annual Upstate Library Student Showcase Students of the three Upstate library and information studies schools will exhibit displays highlighting their research and school projects. The Student Showcase is an excellent opportunity for:
Students interested in participating in the Showcase must submit both a Showcase registration form (pdf or Word) and a general registration form by March 25. Student Shadows Interested in networking with information professionals? Keen to improve your public speaking skills? Want to be published? If you answered "yes!" to any of these questions, consider volunteering as a "student shadow" at the Friday, April 4th UNYSLA Meeting in Buffalo, New York. One library and information studies student will "shadow" each speaker. Shadows will: introduce their speaker, sit with him or her at lunch, and write a short article for the UNYSLA newsletter. Only a limited number of shadows will be chosen, so apply soon (pdf or Word)! Resume Book Meeting attendees are encouraged to provide a copy of their resume for inclusion in the "Resume Book." This book will be available throughout the day to all attendees. Who knows, perhaps your next (or first!) employer might be in the audience! Send your resume in MS Word or PDF format by APRIL 1 to Deb Schmidle. Student Internship Book Looking for an opportunity to gain valuable work experience? The "Student Internship Book" will include internship opportunities throughout Upstate New York. Dont miss it! |
