Job Description:

The Serials and Electronic Resources Librarian serves as a focal point for the integrated development of all serials and electronic resources in the Library, provides expertise in identification, assessment, and licensing to electronic data and information sources, and is responsible for providing integrated access to serials and other continuing resources in all formats, including cataloging and database maintenance activities.

The librarian demonstrates the ability to remain current about emerging technologies in acquisitions and organizations of electronic information, participates in fostering flexibility, creativity and the development of innovative methods of service delivery. The librarian works collaboratively with all staff and participates beyond serials and electronic resources management activities, such as providing reference service, participating system library activities.

Job Requirements:

Requires a significant level of knowledge in the library field normally acquired through completion of a masters degree in library science (MLS) or equivalent work experience, and a minimum of three years of work experience in a similar work environment. Experience with electronic resources. Familiarity with trends in serials and electronic resources management. Knowledge of and experience with serials and electronic information acquisitions. Experience with cataloguing serials and other continuing resources. Ability to plan, develop and deliver training programs. High degree of flexibility and openness to change. Excellent organizational skills. Strong commitment to user services. Ability to work well in a team-based and self-directed environment.

Preferred:

Working knowledge with licensing, database management, and content technology tools.
