LRC Home Search Help About LRC Awards, Articles and Accolades |
Welcome to the Librarians' Resource Centre. This is a selective and searchable collection of resources compiled to facilitate our informational research and retrieval. Founded by Margaret Gross, it has been maintained by SLA Toronto since May of 2001. Since its inception, the LRC has always been run by volunteers.
The Librarians' Resource Centre is organized into three major divisions. "Reference Resources" provides links to search engines, topical guides, ready reference and databases on the net. "Subject-Specific Resources" presents web resources specific to particular topics. The third section is devoted to professional development for library and information professionals.
Wherever possible meta sites or pathfinder resources are presented. The Librarians' Resource Centre is intended to be a place to start searching. Consulting the LRC is analogous in many ways to consulting a bibliography of bibliographies.
Resources in the database have been selected and evaluated by information professionals.
All reasonable
effort has been made to ensure accuracy and to ensure that links are active.
Given the dynamic nature of the internet, it is quite likely that some links
are either out of date or their nature has changed. Please report these as
soon as possible.
