Student Sponsorship Fund

At the 1998 Annual General Meeting, the Toronto Chapter honoured Sally Goodings for her contribution over the past several years of sponsoring a student to each chapter meeting. This valuable service was supported by Sally's employer, Noranda.

Building on the success of this program, it was announced at the 2007 Annual General Meeting that SLA Toronto would establish a Student Sponsorship Fund, which would allow all students to attend SLA Toronto events for FREE, starting in 2008.

For many years, SLA Toronto has had strong ties with the University of Toronto, the University of Western Ontario, and Seneca College. We hope that by allowing all students to attend our events for free, they will quickly realize the benefits of active participation in our association.

With the generous support of five past Chapter Presidents (Gayle Gossen, Laura Knapp, Martha Foote, Pam Casey and Daniel Lee) a $500 base fund was established. If you wish to make a contribution, in any amount, please contact Faye Mitchell, Chapter Treasurer, at Faye.Mitchell @ sunlife.com.
