LexisNexis has announced an agreement with Infomart, the online information arm of Southam (recently purchased by CanWest Global), for the license of 15 Canadian newspapers, including: the National Post, Ottawa Citizen, Montreal Gazette, Vancouver Sun; Calgary Herald and Edmonton Sun. The publishing company has also secured Infomart's agreement to sell Company Dossier in all markets (which was not possible under previous LexisNexis agreements with Infomart) - a feature in LexisNexis that generates a report from information within the LexisNexis system about particular companies. Company Dossier provides users with a way to maximize their intelligence-gathering efforts - increasing productivity while helping them attain the targeted, relevant information they need. It offers instant desktop access to extensive data from a variety of resources on more than 500,000 companies. "It is a significant productivity tool for our customers, as gathering this data by traditional means would require a large number of searches," said LexisNexis Butterworths (Canada) president, John Yates. Users can tap into information on a company's financial and legal history, competitors, its products and brands, research and analyst reports, local and regional news, and intellectual property holdings. |
