This is my final column as your President
- where has the year gone? In the final issue of the Courier this year,
I'll be submitting an annual report to the members.
The Chapter has been lively in the past few months. The sessions at Information
Highways 2000 were successful with the speakers kindly sharing their presentations
with us . There was also an indepth session
on Taking Charge of Training.
The AGM promises to be the crowning glory to our exciting year. Be sure
to smile for our event photographer - Gitta Rice!
The bylaws are revised and all that remains is the final vote. The manual
of procedures continues. Maret Kapp has been gathering information and
putting it together - a fine start. This is not a finite job by any means,
so it will be one of my projects as Past President in the coming year.
Both the Bylaws and Manual of Procedures have been inserted into the Past
President Project cycle to ensure that they receive regular review.
The Chapter Survey is on the website. Your opinion helps the planning process and how we
manage YOUR Chapter.
Heather Wilson is gettng ready to receive the gavel this week at the AGM.
Please contact her if
you have thoughts to share, suggestions to make or a burning urge to volunteer.
It's been a positive year for me in my role as your President. It couldn't
have happened with the strong and able work of the Executive Board and
all the Committee Chairs and members - a hearty THANK YOU!! Progress has
been made on my major goals of the year. It's been my pleasure to serve
the Chapter - I've met new people, made new friends, and had a fun time
doing it - and I'll be passing things on to a more than
capable successor in Heather Wilson.
cheers!
