This introductory seminar will take a snapshot look at Web 2.0 social networking tools including blogs, wikis, RSS, feed aggregators (e.g. Google Reader), tagging and social bookmarking (del.icio.us). These are rapidly becoming essential parts of the librarian's toolkit for communication and building community. Don't be left behind! Learn what they do, what their main features are, and how they can be used inside the organization. Examples from libraries and other industries will illustrate the discussion. A brief look at up-and-coming developments will also be included. Recommendations for additional reading will be made.
