Discussion ListWelcome to the SLA-SF discussion list. This list was created to provide a means of discussing topics of interest to the members of the San Francisco Chapter of SLA. The SLA-SF discussion list is provided by the San Francisco Chapter of the Special Libraries Association as a service to its members. SLA assumes no responsibility for the statements and opinions discussed on this list. Please keep this information in a handy place in case you need to unsubscribe or have questions about the list. ********************** There are two ways to join SLA-CSFO, regular or digest. With a regular subscription, you receive every message that is sent to the discussion list, message by message, as each is sent to the discussion list. With a Digest subscription, you will receive a daily digest of all messages. To subscribe to the regular SLA-CSFO list, send an e-mail to lyris@lists.sla.org. Leave the subject space blank. In the body of the message, type: To subscribe to the digest, send a message to digest-sla-csfo@lists.sla.org. Leave the subject space blank. In the body of the message, type: You should receive an e-mail requesting confirmation of your subscription within a few minutes. Please save the welcome message you receive. It contains information that you may want later. If you do not receive such a message within 24 hours, please send an e-mail to sla-csfo-owner@lists.sla.org. *********************************** To remove yourself from the list, send an e-mail message to leave-sla-csfo@lists.sla.org. After you unsubscribe, you will be sent a confirmation e-mail. ******************************** YOU MUST BE SUBSCRIBED TO THE LIST IN ORDER TO SEND MESSAGES TO IT. To send a message to all the subscribers on the list, e-mail your message to: sla-csfo@lists.sla.org. There must be subject and text in the body of the e-mail. ************************* If you ever need to change your e-mail address, you can unsubscribe with your old e-mail address first, then re-subscribe with your new address following the directions above.

The discussion list should not be used to recruit for jobs. If you'd like to announce a job opening, please contact Lorna Beich at sfbayjobline@yahoo.com or 650-270-3567. The Chapter asks for a $25 donation for SLA members and $50 for non-members to list a job opening. More details on Jobline can be found on the San Andreas Chapter Web site. Try not to type in all caps. Otherwise, it looks like you are SHOUTING. Always include a descriptive subject line. (If you subscribe in the Digest mode, when replying to the discussion list, TYPE IN A NEW SUBJECT, or else your subject line will read: "Re: SLA-SF Digest" and people may not read it. Copyrighted materials should not be posted on the discussion list without the permission of the copyright holder(s). Don't flame (criticize another member of the list) on the discussion list. You should not send or respond to a "flaming" message. Refrain from sending large files to the discussion list. Large files consume system resources and may cause your message to be undeliverable. If at any time you are confused or need help, you can reach a live person by writing to sla-csfo-owner@lists.sla.org. |
