Text Responses: Family visiting from England!  Sounded like a great program and last year the food was good
Interesting program but too far from Peninsula/South Bay -- too long of a drive during rush hour.
I registered but unfortunately I had to stay at work to put out an unexpected fire (I had to work on a budget crisis.)
Had a conflict with the date.  However, I love the idea of authors at our meetings.
The topic was great - I would love to have attended but my husband was out of town for work and a babysitter shortage held me back. Next time!
Too far from San Jose, where I work.  I usually go to San Andreas events.
The event was held on a work day far from where I live.

December is always a busy month, so difficult to attend everything.
I expected more variety in the food and I am surprised they didn't offer some free beverages (water, coffee, etc.) in the room where we met. It wasn't convenient to go to the bar during the program. But the program itself was good.
A nice break from strictly work-related topics and it was a good networking opportunity to see colleagues before the end of the year. Wouldn't have known about the authors and/or their books without having this program.
Excellent speakers, tasty food (although sadly overpriced for finger food). Didn't like being in the building lobby where we got blasted with cold air every time somebody entered/exited the building.
I enjoyed the easy, informal setup and the speakers were wonderful.  The open room allowed  discussion and the meeting felt like a friendly  private party.   thanks! 
The speakers were great.  I thought the food was overpriced.
Having a nicer than usual area in which to mingle/network was great - usually we're dodging chairs and tables it seems (at least at the meetings I get to).  
Not enough food for the cost of the event. It would have been nice if one beverage had been included as well.
Both speakers were interesting, and I especially enjoyed Geisler's discussion of her writing process and her novels.     While I think that hors d'oueuvres would have been a more precise description than buffet-style dinner,I enjoyed the content of the program and was delighted to have participated.
Sound was REALLY bad in that atrium.  Drinks were REALLY expensive.     REALLY enjoyed the speakers, particularly David Dodd. Actually liked that the number of attendees was small enough that I could talk to most of the people there at some point. Food was fine.
Not enough food! I arrived at 6:30, and there was very little food offered, or even available. However, David Dodd was great!
Didn't seem like there was much food and drinks were expensive.  Always enjoy my colleagues.  
The seating was awkward and there was very little food for the $35 charge.
Live/work in the South Bay, and while plan to continue to belong to SF chapter, mostly go to events in local area because of time and commute considerations.
I was disappointed that the event was held in the 'lobby' of the restaurant and the slow service to get a beverage.
The venue, food and speakers were all wonderful.  I thought it was an outstanding event.  It was too expensive for me because of my personal situation, but the food was excellent, so I suppose that's what trendy things cost these days.  I could not afford to buy a glass of wine, which I would have enjoyed, for $9.50!
Lovely venue and I appreciated the convenience to BART. The speakers were very interesting and good together. Great idea to bring in librarians as authors. Price a little high, but I guess that's the case with everything these days!
without a 'sit down' dinner, there was too much time allotted for mingling/eating. I was very relieved once the program go underway. 
Even though it was in the E. Bay, it was easily accessible via BART.  Drinks were a bit expensive.  Food was very good.  Speakers excellent.
I was hoping we could have a full meal with the event.  Also, it was quite chilly in the meeting area.  Otherwise, a very interesting and fun program!  Thanks for all of your hard work.
The chapter is constantly having very interesting events that I would love to attend!  The reasons I have only attended once is that: (1) they are usually held on work days and (2) I live approximately 2 hours from the Bay area and thus do not have enough time to drive to the event before it starts.
For the amount of food offered $35 seems high though it was excellent.  Wine prices in bar were very high also.  Loved the speakers, very interesting.  The site seemed too small at first but once the speakers began, there actually were enough chairs.  It's actually very easy to go in the front door and walk to the back of the building to the restaurant(no need to go around back in the dark as instructions indicated).
