Message from Your 2011 TN Valley Chapter President

My name is Erin Anderson, your 2011 President, and I wanted to welcome everyone to a new year in your SLA Tennessee Valley Chapter!

What exciting things do we have planned for 2011?

• SLA Leadership Summit – January 19-22 in Washington, D.C.
• I will be representing you and the Tennessee Valley Chapter!
• Do you have any questions, concerns or issues you would like me to raise?  About SLA, about the way chapters work, about the library profession itself?  Send your thoughts to me at: erin.domini@yahoo.com.
• March 23 – March 25 is the Tennessee Library Association’s Conference in Murfreesboro.
• Several Board Members and I know many members will be in attendance.  Come Network!
• Tennessee Valley Chapter will be recruiting new members.  You may have gotten our Chapter bookmarks at the past two conferences.
• Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 26th!
• Tennessee Valley Chapter is going on a tour of the Tennessee State Library and Archives
• Lunch in Downtown Nashville
• Spring Board Meeting

--Our neighbors from the Kentucky Chapter will be attending, so please come and make them feel welcome!

• SLA Annual Conference & Info Expo, June 12-15, Philadelphia, PA
• Early Bird Registration: January 26 – April 1
• This is always a grand event and a wonderful learning and networking opportunity. 

• Tennessee Valley Chapter Fall Board Meeting (September or October 2011—Date TBD)
• Interested in being a 2012 Officer?

In other news:

• The 60th Anniversary of our Chapter is coming up in 2013!  We are already making plans, so please add any ideas you have on how best to celebrate our Tennessee Valley Chapter!
