How are laws made? Is our representative system working? How do you approach your elected officials? What are the upcoming information issues in the next legislative session both in Santa Fe and in Washington? What are all of those people doing in the chambers and hearing rooms at the state capitol? If you have ever asked any of these questions, we have the answers for you at the November 8, 2001 meeting of the Rio Grande Chapter.

The program will help you understand the state legislative process and prepare you to visit the legislature and meet with your senators and representatives on the issues at the next session's library day in February 2002.

From the Airport, or from southbound San Mateo Blvd, take Gibson Blvd East. Pass the Lovelace Medical Center. At San Pedro, turn south (right). Heading south on San Pedro, Ridgecrest Drive is the first street on the right. Turn right, and find parking behind the VA Hospital, behind the new Research Building, or adjacent areas. Each visitor should come in the main entrance to the new structure, and push the buzzer by the inside door. Security is tight and each visitor will need to be physically admitted by library staff.
