Experience Music Project

Present: Katherine Foster, Chapter President; Christina Byrne, Past-President; Barbara Wetzel, Treasurer; Julie Cook, Secretary; Dan Trefethen.

The meeting was called to order at 5:00.

Chapter Report: Katherine brought up the issue of the paper fliers to announce Chapter meetings. She would like to stop sending the paper and notify members solely electronically. But the issue was brought up of how to notify those who aren’t on the Chapter electronic mailing list.

Katherine said that there are two open positions in the Chapter roster: archivist and student liaison committee chair.

Treasurer’s Report: Barbara gave the Chapter bank account balance as $10, 287.

Past- President Report: Christina is working on the Chapter Annual Report

New Business: Dan described the SLA online university project. SLA is going to partner with an online learning vendor to develop a curriculum relevant to SLA member’s professional development. The courses will be available to chapters and members for a cost. They are in the process of investigating pricing and content structures. SLA is looking for funding for this challenging project. It will be an investment in our own professional development and also serve as publicity for chapter programming. Dan would like to ask Chapter membership to contribute to the funding of this project. Chris suggested that perhaps this would be an appropriate way for Grants & Funding to use its monies, to fund a course or provide stipends for remote members. This would be a way to bring new members into the Chapter.
