President's Message

Greetings, and Happy New Year to one and all. I sincerely hope everyone enjoyed their Holiday season. My family traveled to Niagara Falls, NY for a visit and we were treated to an amazing snow storm that began on Christmas Eve, and continued through the day we returned to Seattle. All in all, over 7 feet of snow fell! Luckily, after last-minute rearranging of travel plans, everything worked out for us and we got back to Seattle, only 4 hours later than we'd planned! A happy ending to an all-around unsettling year.

As we begin 2002, with the challenging world climate, a teetering economy, and much uncertainty, now, more than ever, is the time to stay the course. Our next Chapter event slated for February 7th at the Husky Union Building on the UW Campus, is entitled "Mentoring: A Tool for Success", and is a fitting title in this, the year of
reaching out to our Student membership. We'll have three presentations, all dealing with how we, the practitioners of our profession, can help the students of our profession achieve their goals. The event begins at 6PM, and hors d'oeuvres, beer, wine & soft drinks will be served. I hope to see a lot of you there.

I wish all of you a peaceful and prosperous New Year. May you have much success in all of your endeavors.

Please share your feedback, your questions, or your suggestions with me directly, or via the Chapter listserv.

Thank you.
